Get Outside! EcoProgram June 6 – June 21

Teens connect with nature, themselves and new friends while directly experiencing day trips to inspirational natural areas throughout the Tucson Basin, including the saguaro studded Tucson Mountains, the crisp forests of the Santa Catalina Mountains, cool desert streams as well as experiences with urban organic farms and ranches! A systems thinking approach  to understanding our world, the Get Outside EcoProgram also includes an overnight camping experience designed to accentuate skills acquired throughout the program.

Global X: Costa Rica

City High School in partnership with The Center for Children and Nature at Prescott College, Ironwood Tree Experience and the Monteverde Institute will lead Tucson teens on an adventurous and educational Costa Rican journey. From the culturally distinct Afro-Caribbean coast of Tortuguero where sea turtles crawl on beaches to lay eggs to the hypnotic volcanic spectacle of Arenal and finally to the cool tropical cloud forests of Monteverde, students encounter a dazzling display of wildlife, culture, culinary choices and community interactions that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Get Experience! EcoProgram July 10- July 28

 

Get Experience! teens join the fun with overnight camping trips, hikes, rock climbing, and backpacking in back country areas throughout the Tucson Basin including Santa Catalina Mountains, Chiricahua Mountains and San Pedro River.

While having fun, developing expertise, and making personal discoveries in the backcountry teens design, initiate, and drive projects that enhance our urban community and provide important planning and cooperative skills for future leaders.

 

Get Experience! EcoProgram is a prerequisite to advanced EcoPrograms such as Expeditionary Experience!, Epic Experience!, and Mentorship.
