Community Action projects are an integral part of all ITE EcoProgramming. Community Action projects focus upon the urban environment to reconnect kids with their community through teen designed projects that emphasize nature, ecosystem services, sustainability, green infrastructure, urban ecology, systems thinking and outdoor play for young and old.

ITE expresses its commitment to community through GreenLots and the KidsCorridor projects. GreenLots and KidsCorridors are urban spaces and pathways in which teens, neighborhood members and professionals actively design to create habitat for kids, community and nature. We advocate for natural play spaces integrated throughout the community as integral to the creative development and wellness of our kids and the overall aesthetic and ecological health of our community.

Teens are involved in all aspects of GreenLots and KidsCorridor projects from research, planning and design to implementation and maintenance.

GreenLots and KidsCorridors become part of the community as a resource for exploration, discovery and learning. The development of GreenLots and Kids Corridor are accomplished by support of the entire Tucson Community and our partners who invest time, sweat, resources, expertise and money.
